Ewelina pawelczyk
PhD student at the Doctoral School of the Gdańsk University of Technology and member of the University Council of Doctoral Students’ Self-Government at Gdańsk University of Technology.
Her doctoral thesis, carried out at the Department of Process Engineering and Chemical Technology, concerns the combination of pyrolysis with dry reforming as a sustainable method of recovering raw materials from plastic waste. A key area he is currently working on is new catalysts for this technology. Her scientific interests include recycling and waste valorization, catalysis, green hydrogen production and storage technologies, CO2 utilization methods, and sustainable technologies of the future.

Her interests are focused on finding solutions to combat bacterial drug resistance with a particular focus on bacteriophages and the lytic enzymes produced by these viruses.
She is also involved in popularising science, focusing on topics related to microbiology.

Master’s student at the Faculty of Biology and the Faculty of Oceanography and Geography, University of Gdańsk. Chair of the Student Oceanographers’ Research Club.
Scientifically, primarily involved in marine biology, most of all marine botany.
Deal with macro- and micro-algae and cyanobacteria, which she enjoys observing under the microscope and photographing. She conducts research on the classical and molecular taxonomy of these organisms. More recently, she has also been exploring the herbivorous marine mammals – Sirenias.
