What is the role of the scientific supervisor?

(a) A scientific supervisor, with at least a doctoral degree, shall provide substantive and technical review the submitted abstracts.

Does the scientific supervisor have to be present during the congress?

a) No, the scientific supervisor does not have to be present during the Congress.

Should the supervisor give an opinion on a panel topic and the person conducting the panel?

(a) The supervisor should complete the “scientific supervisor form” sent to the panel submitter by the Congress organisers.

 

Can one panel be moderated by more than one person?

a) Yes, the panel can be moderated by more than one person, but not more than 3.

In which language should the panel description be prepared?

(a) The panel description should be written in the panel discussion’s language. For Polish-language panels – in Polish, for English-language panels – in English, etc.

Can UG doctoral students/students attend the Congress for free? To what extent?

a) UG students and PhD students can attend the Young Science Congress for free. The free participation includes panel submissions, a total of three lectures and posters. These individuals will receive a certificate attesting to their active participation in the Congress.

What are the requirements concerning the number of people participating in a panel?

a) In terms of the minimum number of submissions to the panel, it is 4 papers/lectures and/or posters, whereas there is no maximum limit.

What is the panel submission deadline?

(a) Panels can be submitted until 17 March or until spots run out.

What is the deadline for submitting papers/lectures?

(a) Papers/lectures can be submitted until 11 June or until time slots are filled.

At what times will the panels be held? What is the time allowed for each panel?

(a) The congress programme will be made available after the closing of speaker registration. The panel durations of the depend on the number of lectures submitted. The expected speaking time is 15 minutes, with discussion time added to the panel time – between 15 and 30 minutes for each 1.5 hours of presentations.

Does the person exhibiting a poster have to be present during the poster session?

(a) Certificates of attendance will only be issued to participants of the poster session, i.e. standing next to the poster for the duration of the session and present the theses contained therein as required.

By when must the fee be paid?

a) Payments must be paid within 7 days after receipt of confirmation of acceptance of the application for the 3rd Young Science Congress.

(b) In the case of panels, payment must be made within 7 days of receipt of confirmation from the organisers that the submitted panel is going ahead.

What length should the abstract be?

(a) Minimum abstract length: 1/3 of an A4 page

(b) Maximum abstract length: ¾ of an A4 page

What format should the poster be in?

(a) The size of the poster is A1 (841 x 594 mm) vertically.

Do the organisers provide accommodation?

a) No. The congress participation fee does not include accommodation. We provide accommodation at a price of PLN XXX per night at the University of Gdansk student dormitories (single and double rooms). More information will be sent at a later date once you have qualified for the Congress

What does the congress participation fee cover

a) The participant fee includes food (lunches, dinners), coffee breaks, conference materials, participation in accompanying/integration events, participation at the gala banquet summarising the Young Science Congress.

I want to attend the Congress without giving a lecture, is that possible?

a) Yes, you can attend the congress without giving a lecture. The organisers have prepared 2 forms of such participation:

b) Free listener – no participation free. No food, conference materials or participation in accompanying events is provided.

c) Passive participant – a fee of PLN 420 is required, the participant does not present a paper, but enjoys all the benefits of the conference, i.e. food, promotional materials, side events, etc. In that case, accommodation in the student dormitory will be PLN XXXX / day.

Where will the Congress be held?

a) The 3rd Young Science Congress will be held at the University of Gdansk Faculty of Social Sciences, ul. Bażyńskiego 4.

    1. Czy opiekun naukowy musi być obecny podczas kongresu? 

a) Nie, opiekun naukowy nie musi być obecny podczas Kongresu.  

 

    1. Czy opiekun powinien wystawić opinię odnośnie do tematu panelu i osoby prowadzącej panel? 

a) Opiekun powinien uzupełnić „formularz opiekuna naukowego” przesłany zgłaszającemu panel przez organizatorów Kongresu.  

 

    1. Czy jeden panel może być moderowany przez więcej niż jedną osobę? 

a) Tak, panel może być moderowany przez więcej niż jedną osobę, ale nie więcej niż przez 3.  

 

    1. W jakim języku należy przygotować opis panelu? 

a) Opis panelu powinien zostać napisany w języku w jakim odbywa się dyskusja podczas panelu. Dla paneli polskojęzycznych – w języku polskim, dla paneli angielskojęzycznych – w języku angielskim itd. 

 

    1. Czy doktoranci/studenci UG mogą brać udział w Kongresie za darmo? W jakim zakresie? 

a) Studenci i Doktoranci UG mogą wziąć udział w Kongresie Młodej Nauki za darmo. W ramach darmowego uczestnictwa można zgłosić panel, wygłosić łącznie 3 referaty oraz postery. Osoby te otrzymają certyfikat poświadczający aktywny udział w Kongresie.  

 

    1. Jak wygląda kwestia liczby osób, które wezmą udział w panelu? 

a) W kwestii minimalnej liczby zgłoszeń do panelu wynosi ona 4 referaty i/lub postery, zaś jeśli chodzi o maksymalną liczbę to nie ma żadnych ograniczeń.  

 

    1. Jaki jest ostateczny termin zgłaszania paneli? 

a) Panele można zgłaszać do 17 marca lub do wyczerpania miejsc.  

 

    1. Jaki jest ostateczny termin zgłaszania referatów? 

a) Referaty można zgłaszać do 11 czerwca lub do wyczerpania miejsc.  

 

    1. W jakich godzinach będą odbywały się panele? Jaki jest czas przewidziany na każdy panel? 

a) Program Kongresu zostanie udostępniony po zakończeniu zapisów dla referujących. Czas trwania panelu zależy od liczby zgłoszonych referatów. Przewidywany czas na wygłoszenie wystąpienia to 15 minut, do czasu trwania panelu doliczony jest również czas na dyskusję – od 15 do 30 minut na każde 1,5 godziny trwania wystąpień.  

 

    1. Czy osoba wystawiająca poster musi być obecna w trakcie sesji posterowej? 

a) Zaświadczenia o udziale w konferencji będą wystawiane jedynie osobom, które będą brały udział w sesji posterowej tj. przez czas trwania sesji stały obok posteru i w miarę potrzeb prezentowały zawarte w nim tezy. 

 

    1. Do kiedy należy uiścić opłatę? 

a) Płatności należy uiścić w ciągu 7 dni po otrzymaniu potwierdzenia przyjęcia zgłoszenia na III Kongres Młodej Nauki.  

b) W przypadku paneli, płatności należy uiścić w ciągu 7 dni po otrzymaniu potwierdzenia od organizatorów, że zgłoszony panel rusza.

    1. Jakiej długości powinien być abstrakt? 

a) Minimalna długość abstraktu: 1/3 strony A4 

b) Maksymalna długość abstraktu: ¾ strony A4 

 

    1. W jakim formacie ma być poster? 

a) Wymiar posteru to A1 (841 x 594 mm). 

 

    1.  Czy organizatorzy zapewniają zakwaterowanie? 

a) Nie. W cenę opłaty za uczestnictwo w Kongresie nie jest wliczone zakwaterowanie. Zapewniamy możliwość zakwaterowania w cenie 32,40 zł za dobę w domach studenckich Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego (pokoje jedno- i dwuosobowe). Więcej informacji zostanie przesłanych w późniejszym terminie po zakwalifikowaniu do udziału w Kongresie 

 

    1. Co obejmuje opłata za uczestnictwo w Kongresie 

a) W ramach opłaty zapewniamy dla uczestników wyżywienie (obiady, kolacje), przerwy kawowe, materiały konferencyjne, udział w imprezach towarzyszących/integracyjnych, udział w uroczystym bankiecie podsumowującym Kongres Młodej Nauki. 

 

    1. Chcę wziąć udział w Kongresie bez wygłaszania referatu, czy jest taka możliwość? 

a) Tak, można wziąć udział w kongresie bez wygłaszania referatu. Organizatorzy przygotowali 2 formy takiego uczestnictwa: 

b) Wolny słuchacz – udział bezpłatny Nie jest zapewnione wyżywienie, materiały konferencyjnie ani udział w imprezach towarzyszących. 

c) Uczestnik bierny – wymagana jest opłata 420 zł, uczestnik nie wygłasza referatu, ale korzysta ze wszystkich przywilejów płynących z konferencji, tj. wyżywienia, materiałów promocyjnych, imprez towarzyszących etc. Wówczas zakwaterowanie w domu studenckim wyniesie 32,40 zł / dobę. 

 

    1. Gdzie odbywać się będzie Kongres? 

a) III Kongres Młodej Nauki odbywać się będzie na Wydziale Nauk Społecznych Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego, ul. Bażyńskiego 4. 

 

    1. Jak dojechać na miejsce, gdzie odbywać się będzie Kongres? 

a) Kolejką SKM, tramwajem bądź taksówką
