2. What forms of participation are included in the Congress?
The programme includes:
- plenary lectures,
- conference presentations,
- discussion panels,
- workshops and training sessions led by practitioners,
- extensive networking sessions.
3. What is the main theme of the special 2026 edition of the Congress?
This year’s edition focuses on the organisation and functioning of young science. Particular emphasis is placed on networking, the exchange of experiences, and the development of practical skills supporting academic and professional careers.
4. What are the example thematic areas for presentations?
In 2026, only presentations related to the organisation and functioning of young science will be accepted, including topics concerning science management, student and doctoral self-governance, student and doctoral agency, student and doctoral cooperatives, and interdisciplinary approaches to academia.
The thematic scope includes, among others:
- public policies related to higher education and science,
- research funding,
- career development of young researchers,
- cooperation between academia, business, and local governments,
- internationalisation of science,
- open science and science communication,
- the science evaluation system,
- activities of student and doctoral organisations,
- interdisciplinary approaches to academia.
5. In what language should the presentation abstract be prepared?
The abstract should be written in the same language in which the presentation will be delivered. For Polish-language presentations – in Polish, for English-language presentations – in English, etc.
6. Are there any discounts for people from the University of Gdańsk?
A special participation offer has been prepared for students, doctoral students, and employees of the University of Gdańsk. The participation fee is PLN 200 for participants and panel organisers affiliated with the University of Gdańsk.
7. What is a poster session and what is its thematic scope?
A poster session is a form of presenting research results or scientific projects in the form of a scientific poster. Participants have the opportunity to present their research topics, showcase key findings, and engage in direct discussions with other participants. It is a space that encourages discussion, exchange of experiences, and establishing new academic contacts.
Unlike conference presentations, the poster session is not limited to topics related to the organisation and functioning of young science. The thematic scope is open and includes a wide range of research areas represented by participants. The session is organised in cooperation with Gdańsk University of Technology.
8. Must a person presenting a poster be present during the poster session?
Certificates of participation will only be issued to participants who actively take part in the poster session, i.e. remain next to their poster throughout the session and present its content when needed.
9. What is the deadline for submitting papers?
Presentations may be submitted until 15 June or until all places are filled.
10. What will the networking sessions involve?
Networking sessions are a new element of the Congress of Young Science programme, designed to support integration and cooperation among participants. Meetings will be organised within specific scientific disciplines to connect people with similar research interests.
During the sessions, participants will be able to:
- briefly present their research interests and areas,
- exchange experiences and discuss ongoing projects,
- establish contacts and initiate cooperation with other students, doctoral students, and young researchers.
These sessions are intended to help participants find people with similar interests, discover new perspectives, and build academic relationships extending beyond the Congress itself.
11. Does participation in networking sessions require separate registration?
Yes. Participation in networking sessions requires separate registration. The registration form will be made available after 15 June and sent to individuals who have previously registered for the Congress of Young Science. This will allow participants to choose sessions corresponding to their disciplines and research interests.
12. By when should the fee be paid?
Payments must be made within 7 days of receiving confirmation of acceptance of the application for the 4th Congress of Young Science.
In the case of registering a panel, payments must be made within 7 days of receiving confirmation from the organizers that the registered panel is starting.
13. To what account should the conference fee be paid?

14. How long should the abstract be?
· Minimum abstract length: 1/3 A4 page
· Maximum abstract length: ¾ A4 page
15. What format should the poster be in?
The poster format is A1 (841 x 594 mm).
16. Do the organizers provide accommodation?
No. The fee for participation in the Congress does not include accommodation. We provide lodging at the price of PLN 60 per day in the student dormitories of the University of Gdańsk (single and double rooms). More information will be sent at a later date after qualifying for participation in the Congress.
17. What is included in the participation fee?
The fee includes:
- participation in all programme activities,
- meals: lunch and dinner on the first day, and lunch on the second day.
18. What forms of participation are available at the Congress of Young Science?
The following forms of participation are available in 2026:
- active participant – presenting a paper or poster,
- networking participant – taking part in networking sessions,
- passive participant – attending Congress events without presenting,
- listener – according to the rules specified in section 8.
