Biologia eksperymentalna organizmów fotosyntetyzujących

Panel ma na celu interdyscyplinarne spojrzenie na organizmy fotoautotroficzne należące do różnych grup systematycznych. Ze względu na ich znaczenie w funkcjonowaniu ekosystemów oraz cyklach biogeochemicznych, istotne jest upowszechnianie wyników badań nad nimi w środowisku naukowym oraz wymiana doświadczeń między badaczami. Tematyka panelu obejmuje zagadnienia z zakresu ekologii, toksykologii, fizjologii, biochemii, embriologii oraz biotechnologii, pokazując ich potencjał badawczy i aplikacyjny.

Słowiańszczyzna w kontekstach kulturowych / Slavic Space: Cultural Dimensions and Contexts

Panel koncentruje się na kulturoznawczym ujęciu przestrzeni słowiańskiej jako obszaru dynamicznych znaczeń, praktyk i wyobrażeń. Badania obejmują jej symboliczny, społeczny i historyczny wymiar w różnych kontekstach kulturowych.

This panel explores the Slavic space from a cultural studies perspective, treating it as a dynamic field of meanings, practices, and imaginaries. It considers its symbolic, social, and historical dimensions across diverse cultural contexts.

Słowiańskie i pozasłowiańskie inspiracje w literaturze / Slavic and non-Slavic inspirations in literature

Tematyka panelu skupia się przede wszystkim wokół literackiej recepcji szeroko pojętej Słowiańszczyzny i słowiańskich (choć nie tylko) inspiracji w literaturze. Dla możliwie szerokiego i ponadnarodowego ujęcia tematu jesteśmy otwarci na prelegentów z różnych krajów słowiańskich.

 

The panel’s subject matter focuses primarily on the literary reception of broadly understood Slavic culture and Slavic (though not exclusively) inspirations in literature. For the broadest and most transnational approach to the subject, we are open to speakers from various Slavic countries.

Reassessing Power: Foucault’s Legacy in Historical and Contemporary Research

Over the past two decades, Michel Foucault’s work has continued to inspire and challenge scholars across a wide spectrum of disciplines. His analyses of *raison d’État*, governmentality, and biopolitics remain particularly relevant for scholars of modern history, political theory, and cultural studies. Far from being confined to one academic field, Foucault’s conceptual tools offer a flexible and dynamic framework for interrogating the evolution of state power, the organization of knowledge, and the mechanisms of social control.

Michel Foucault has proved to be an invaluable hermeneutical toolkit for recent socio-political developments. The Covid pandemic and biopolitics, the persistence of neoliberalism and its effects on life. The most recent research done on Foucault as an instigator of economic theology (Stimilli 2015) or recent works on the linkage between Foucault and the Reformation (Lindholm and Di Carlo 2024), Foucault and Tacitus (Di Carlo 2024, Ferraro 2024) and Foucault and the US Supreme Court (Di Carlo 2024b) prove the importance and the significance of Foucault.

This panel invites contributions that engage with Foucault’s theoretical legacy, whether by applying his concepts to new historical contexts, reflecting on his methodological approach, or reassessing his ideas in light of contemporary geopolitical transformations. We are especially interested in papers that explore how Foucault’s reflections on state power and the art of government can inform current debates on global governance, authoritarianism, and political resistance.

In addition, the panel seeks to highlight the impact of Foucault’s thought on subjects as diverse as linguistics, law, and film studies. We welcome interdisciplinary proposals that either extend Foucault’s methodologies to new domains or critically engage with his intellectual legacy to shape future academic research.

Scholars working in history, philosophy, political science, sociology, linguistics, and related fields are encouraged to submit proposals. The panel aims to foster a rich dialogue on the contemporary significance of Foucault’s work and its ongoing potential for scholarly advancement.

Myśl socjalistyczna od XIX do XXI wieku / Socialist thought from the XIX to the XXI century

Myśl socjalistyczna odegrała fundamentalne znaczenie na przestrzeni ostatnich trzech stuleci. Jej wysoki stopień zróżnicowania, zniuansowana i kontrowersyjna historia oraz silne teoretyczne zakorzenienie w wielu dyscyplinach nauk społecznych sprawia, że jest ona wciąż relewantnym tematem badań naukowych. Celem panelu jest stworzenie interdyscyplinarnej dyskusji, która pozwoli młodym badaczom dzielić się wynikami badań oraz swoimi przemyśleniami na temat szeroko pojętej myśli socjalistycznej.

Socialist thought has played a fundamental role over the last three centuries. It’s high degree of diversity, nuanced and controversial history, and strong theoretical roots in many social sciences make it a relevant topic of research. The aim of the panel is to create an interdisciplinary discussion that will allow young researchers to share their research results and thoughts on socialism and it’s history in its broader sense.

Hołd pruski a narodziny Prus – paradoks historii.

W kwietniu 2025 roku przypada 500.rocznica hołdu pruskiego i poprzedzającego go traktatu krakowskiego. Doniosłość tego wydarzenia tkwi jednak w czym innym. Traktat i hołd zakończyły formalnie funkcjonowanie państwa zakonu krzyżackiego w Prusach, równocześnie dając początek świeckiemu Księstwu Pruskiemu. W panelu chcielibyśmy poruszyć kwestie dotyczące Wielkiego Księstwa Litewskiego, Prus Książęcych oraz samej Rzeczypospolitej i konsekwencji, które dotknęły te państwa po podpisaniu przez Zygmunta I Starego zwierzchnictwa lennego nad Prusami. Preferowane zagadnienia to: polityka, społeczeństwo, kultura, gospodarka oraz konsekwencje polityczne.

Migracje i diaspory w ujęciu historycznym i współczesnym / Migrations and diasporas in historical and contemporary perspective

Współcześnie procesy migracje uznać należy za jeden z najważniejszych komponentów kształtującego się porządku międzynarodowego oraz istotny element rzeczywistości społecznej wielu państw. Ich oddziaływanie widoczne jest zarówno w skali mikro (na poziomie jednostek i rodzin), w skali mezo (na poziomie społeczności lokalnych, wspólnot i regionów), jak i w skali makro (w odniesieniu do państw, ugrupowań integracyjnych takich jak Unia Europejska oraz szerzej – całego ładu globalnego). W XIX w. migracje międzynarodowe przyjęły formę ruchów masowych, stanowiących istotny i trwały element rzeczywistości międzynarodowej. Dalszy wzrost znaczenia migracji, jako ważnego fenomenu społecznego, ekonomicznego i politycznego, nastąpił w XX w., w związku z czym stulecie to zyskało miano „wieku migracji”. W XXI w migracje i diaspory stały się jednym z najważniejszych tematów debaty społecznej i politycznej, polaryzującym opinię publiczną. Panel ma charakter interdyscyplinarnej dyskusji nad procesami migracyjnymi oraz ukształtowanymi w ich wyniku diasporami.

 

Contemporary migration processes should be regarded as one of the most important components shaping the emerging international order and a significant element of the social reality in many countries. Their impact is visible on the micro scale (at the level of individuals and families), the meso scale (at the level of local communities, societies, and regions), as well as the macro scale (with regard to states, integration groupings such as the European Union, and more broadly – the entire global order). In the 19th century, international migrations took the form of mass movements, becoming a significant and lasting element of international reality. The further increase in the importance of migration as a crucial social, economic, and political phenomenon occurred in the 20th century, which led to this period being labeled the „age of migration.” In the 21st century, migration and diasporas have become among the most prominent topics of social and political debate, often polarizing public opinion. The panel constitutes an interdisciplinary discussion on migration processes and the diasporas that have emerged as a result.

Art as a Means of Communication in Second Language Learning

This panel explores the role of art as a communicative tool in second language acquisition and learning. Drawing from interdisciplinary research, the panellists will discuss how visual expression enhances linguistic development, fosters cultural understanding, and aids learners in overcoming language barriers, broadening their understanding, and expanding their horizon. Topics include the integration of art in language classrooms, the impact of creative expression on cognitive processes, and practical applications for educators. The session will conclude with an interactive discussion on best practices for using art in second language instruction.
